Pomelu privacy policy.

Pomelu is an unofficial mobile app for Hermes Agent by Nous Research. This policy tells you what happens to your data when you use it.

In short: Royan AB collects no data. There is no account with Royan, no analytics, no ads, no tracking, no crash reporting and no Royan server. The app talks only to the Hermes Agent gateway that you run.

What Royan AB collects

Nothing. Royan AB does not collect, receive or store any data from the app:

  • No account with Royan AB.
  • No analytics, no ads and no tracking.
  • No crash reporting.
  • No Royan server. The app never sends data to Royan AB.

Where your messages go

The app talks only to the gateway URL that you enter. The messages, files, voice messages, images and locations that you send go to that gateway. You run and control the gateway.

Your gateway can send this data to the AI providers and tools that you configured on it. Their privacy policies apply.

What stays on your device

  • Your gateway URL and settings, in the app preferences.
  • Your sign-in password or token, in the system secure store: the iOS Keychain or the Android Keystore.

When you delete the app, these are removed. Android backup is off for Pomelu.

Other services the app contacts

The app contacts these services itself, and only when you use the feature:

  • OpenStreetMap tile servers, for map tiles when you open the location picker. They see your IP address, and their policy for IP addresses applies.
  • The phone's system geocoder (Apple or Google), to show the name of a place.
  • YouTube oEmbed and img.youtube.com, for previews of YouTube links in replies.
  • Image hosts named in bot replies. Images in replies load from those hosts, and they see your device's IP address.

Permissions

The app asks for each permission only when you use the feature:

  • Camera: take a photo to send.
  • Photo library: pick photos and videos to send, and save an image.
  • Microphone: record a voice message.
  • Location, while in use: share a place.
  • Notifications: show replies while the app is in the background.
  • Local network (iOS): reach a gateway on your local network.

On Android, "Stay connected" is a foreground service that you turn on yourself. It keeps the connection to your gateway open.

Connections without encryption

You can connect to your gateway over plain http, for example on a home network or over Tailscale. The app warns you that such traffic is not encrypted.

Children

Pomelu is not directed at children under 13. Its target audience on Google Play is 18 and over.

Selling and sharing

Royan AB does not sell or share any data, because it holds none.

Deleting your data

There is no account to delete. Royan AB holds no data about you. To remove the data on your phone, delete the app. Data on your gateway is deleted on your gateway.

Changes to this policy

We post changes on this page with a new effective date.
