What it does
Your Hermes Agent bots, in a messenger on your phone.
Each bot on your gateway has one chat, like a contact in a messenger. Answers stream in live, and you see what the agent does while it works.
Live answers
Answers stream in as the agent writes them, with Markdown and code blocks. Tool activity shows while the agent works.
Questions and approvals
When the agent asks you a question or needs your approval, you answer it in the chat.
Images, video, voice and files
Send and receive images, video, voice messages and files.
Share into a bot
Share a place from a map, or share from other apps straight into a bot.
One chat per bot
Create a bot, and change its name and picture. Each bot keeps one chat.
Bot details
See the bot's skills and tools, edit its SOUL.md, and pause, resume, run or delete its scheduled jobs.
Foldables and iPhone Duo
A two-pane layout on foldables and the iPhone Duo, and a light and a dark theme on every phone.
Stay connected on Android
Optional: turn it on, and replies arrive as notifications while the app is in the background.
No Royan server
The app talks only to your own gateway. Royan AB collects no data and runs no server for Pomelu.
Before you start
Pomelu connects to your own Hermes Agent.
Pomelu needs a Hermes Agent gateway that you run. The app has no agent of its own, and there is no Royan server between you and your bots.
In the app, enter your gateway's URL and sign in. From then on, the app talks only to that address.

Privacy
Royan AB collects no data.
No account with Royan, no analytics, no ads, no tracking and no crash reporting. Your gateway URL and settings stay on your phone, and your password or token stays in the iOS Keychain or the Android Keystore.

Is Pomelu made by Nous Research?
No. Royan AB, a software company in Stockholm, publishes Pomelu. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Nous Research.
Do I need my own Hermes Agent?
Yes. Pomelu needs a Hermes Agent gateway that you run. The app has no agent of its own, and Royan AB runs no server for it. The Hermes Agent documentation explains how to install one.
Can Royan AB see my messages?
No. The app talks only to the gateway URL that you enter. Your messages and files go to your gateway, which you run and control. Royan AB collects no data.
Which devices does Pomelu run on?
iPhone, including the iPhone Duo, and Android phones and foldables. On foldables and the iPhone Duo, Pomelu uses a two-pane layout.
Can I connect over plain http?
Yes, for example on a home network or over Tailscale. The app warns you that such traffic is not encrypted.
